Symphonic Jorge Pardo & OEX

Jorge Pardo

Under the direction and arrangements of composer Toni Cuenca, the music of Jorge Pardo takes on a new dimension, for perhaps it will be the classical music of 100 years from now without losing its jazz and improvisational character. Jorge, master of flamenco and jazz, is integrated into a symphony orchestra as a luxury soloist. The conclusion, a flamenco-jazz-symphonic concert.

Jorge Pardo and Toni Cuenca have met in different musical projects, sharing the stage and ideas about this great musical format. This project was a necessity to grow in a joint musical journey through time.

One of the peculiarities of this symphonic concert is the improvised ability of Jorge, improvisation that transcends different styles, epochs and sound cultures, to become, according to pardo, "A practice that is rooted in the very germ of human creativity".

The Jorge Pardo Sinfónico concert is a project in which the flautist, saxophonist and composer Jorge Pardo, National Award of Current Music 2015, best European jazz musician 2013 and master of flamenco, shares the stage with the Balearic music director and arranger Toni Cuenca , which on this occasion directs the OEX.

The different sections of the orchestra merge with the duende and art by Pardo, who revisits compositions of his own work filtered through Toni Cuenca's orchestral arrangements.
